Federer first to the Semis

by admin on July 2, 2008

Roger Federer defending his title for the 6th time? Add the fact that he was facing the last man to beat him at Wimbledon. Something’s got to to go wrong, right? Wrong! Federer won the match 6–1, 7–5, 6–4.

The scoreline may suggest that the match was close but it really wasn’t except maybe in the 2nd set. Considering that the first set took only 20 minutes, Ancic knew right away that he was in deep trouble. Rain delays did help Ancic, but he was just spent and did not force a break point on Roger’s serve.

Safin vs. Lopez, and Nadal vs. Murray are still going on.
